What is the ruling on celebrating Mawlid / the Prophet’s birthday?
Answer
Studying and mentioning the blessed seerah and sending salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ is praiseworthy at all times. Fixing a particular date as a binding ritual, or holding gatherings that contain innovated practices, intermingling or extravagance, is not established from the Salaf and should be avoided. Keep love of the Prophet ﷺ alive through following his Sunnah.
