Question
Is reciting the Qur’an and sending reward to the deceased permissible?
Answer
Yes. Reciting the Qur’an, giving charity, and performing other good deeds with the intention of conveying the reward (isal-e-thawab) to a deceased Muslim is permissible and benefits them. This may be done at any time; one should avoid turning it into a fixed, innovated ceremony.
